Biomolecular Systems and Design Lab Opens at Constructor University

Torsten John has joined the School of Science at Constructor University in Bremen as Assistant Professor (Tenure-Track) of Physical Chemistry. He brings together biophysical experiments and molecular dynamics simulations to investigate how peptide sequences encode self-assembly pathways at biological and synthetic interfaces, connecting molecular mechanisms to functional biomaterial design.

The Biomolecular Systems and Design Lab is now open and being equipped with surface-sensitive and spectroscopic instrumentation to support experimental studies of peptide self-assembly, membrane interactions, and interface chemistry alongside molecular dynamics simulations. The lab welcomes motivated students and researchers with backgrounds in chemistry, biophysics, biochemistry, or computational science.
