ChemistryViews Interview: Building on a Global Professional Network

Torsten John was interviewed by Vera Koester for ChemistryViews at the Advanced Summit 2024, hosted by Wiley-VCH in Weinheim, Germany. The conversation covers his research on peptide self-assembly and biomolecular interfaces, his new position as Assistant Professor at Constructor University in Bremen, and reflections on an international career path spanning Leipzig, Melbourne, Cambridge, and Mainz.

Torsten also discusses his long-standing involvement in the global chemistry community, including his roles in the Young Chemists Forum of the GDCh, the European Young Chemists’ Network (EYCN), and as former Chair of the International Younger Chemists Network (IYCN). All of those contributed to building an international professional network that shaped his career in chemistry.
