Torsten John is an Assistant Professor of Physical Chemistry at Constructor University in Bremen, where he leads a research group in Biophysical and Computational Chemistry. His research centers on understanding biomolecular self-assembly and interactions at interfaces, employing both experimental and computational techniques to address fundamental challenges in these areas. He earned his PhD in chemistry with summa cum laude distinction from Leipzig University and has conducted research at MIT, Monash University, and the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research, among others.
Recognized with awards and fellowships like the Feodor Lynen Fellowship from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, CAS/SciFinder Future Leaders, and inclusion in IUPAC’s Periodic Table of Younger Chemists, he was also a Young Scientist at the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings. As former Chair of the International Younger Chemists Network (IYCN), Torsten John remains dedicated to advancing early-career chemists.
